Who we are?
Algamar is a company dedicated to the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of seaweed (Macrocystis pyrifera, also known as Giant Kelp). We have our own technological developments, always offering new and functional products for our end users. From the kelp, we extract the most important, natural, and special components. We are focused on products for agriculture, aquaculture, pets, and human consumption, including biomedicine and cosmetics.
As of January 2025, Algamar is part of Ocean Rainforest, a company pioneering sustainable seaweed production in Europe. While Ocean Rainforest has led innovation across the European continent, Algamar has established itself as a pioneer in Mexico, being the only company with a permit to cultivate seaweed in the ocean.
This integration allows us to combine our regional expertise and leadership, expanding our portfolio to include a wide range of seaweed species. We can now offer more comprehensive and innovative solutions for agriculture, the food industry, and cosmetics, always with a focus on sustainability and environmental care.
